The God who sees

The God who sees

Geoff continued our series called ‘Hope has a name.’ Throughout the history recorded in the Bible, people gave names to God to try and describe his character and nature. From those names and stories we learn who God can be for us today.

In the Old Testament book of Genesis we meet a woman named Hagar. Hagar had run away from home and was facing her own death, when God appeared to her. Hagar gave him the name El Roi – the God who sees because he had seen Hagar in her distress. From this name we have hope that God sees us and comes near to us.
