God’s Healing in Linsey’s Life

God’s healing in Linsey’s life.

This week we are continuing hearing about God working in our lives. With a particular focus on god’s healing power this week we heard from Geoff and Linsey. Linsey was brave enough to share her testimony and you can watch it here online;

Geoff also encouraged us about seeking God for not just physical healing but also healing in the deeper levels of our emotions and spirit.  If after listening to this you would like pray, come and ask someone on Sunday or head into the office during the week, we would love the opportunity to join with you in seeking God for healing in your life.

    Linsey was very brave to share that part of her life and I believe God has/is/will bless her greatly for doing so.

    I always think of Paul, surely one example of great faith; and yet when he pleaded with God to take away the ‘thorn in his flesh’ God said “My Grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Cor 12:9).

    If God were to heal everyone when they asked, we would all use God like a vending machine.

    I believe God uses our situations as a witness to others and to non-believers, as well as teaching us to trust Him completely.

    Similarly, Linsey spoke of God giving us ‘the desires of our heart’. Again, it is easy to take this verse out of context. Psalm 37 tells us that if we ‘trust and delight in The Lord He will give us the desires of our heart’. And He will; but if we truly trust and delight in The Lord the desires of our heart will line up with His, and will be for His Will to be done, not just in our lives, but in every situation, in everyone’s life and throughout the whole world.

    Generally people expect God to answer prayers according to what they ‘want’. God answers prayers according to what He knows we need.
