Have you ever read something in the Old Testament and thought; “What does that even mean?” or “I can’t believe that’s in the Bible!” Starting on Sunday night, February 22, we’re hosting a Study Season in the church hall. Brian, Laura and Geoff will provide in-depth teaching and discussion on strange and difficult passages in the Old Testament with the goal of becoming more comfortable with the stories that we don’t understand or that challenge us.
The Study Season is on Sunday nights from 6.30pm-7.30pm in the hall and will happen each Sunday for 6 weeks from February 15 – March 22.
The first study on Sunday 22nd February will cover one of the darkest stories in the Bible found in Judges 19-21. These chapters contain a graphic description of violence against a woman so please review the material in advance to decide if this is something you would like to spend time understanding better. This isn’t a topic for young children, but it could be good for older kids or young adults, as they will find the story themselves if they simply read through the Bible.
