Putting your faith into action series

Putting your faith into action series

Having faith in Jesus naturally leads to a concern for others. Not just others in the church, but all people. The Apostle Paul wrote that we should have the same attitude that Jesus had – not just looking out for our own interests but taking an interest in others, too. This series will spark a desire within you to follow Jesus by putting your faith into action for the benefit of other people. We’ll share encouragement and practical suggestions in each message on how to do this.

Sunday 14th August – Speak Up

When have the people of God been called to speak up on behalf of the lost? Who did Jesus speak up for and what was the cost for him? For who and how are we encouraged to speak up today?

Sunday 21st August – Sit Beside

Time is a great gift. We see that Jesus would often stop and have conversations with people. He gave them time in a busy schedule. He went into the homes of those who were cast out and had meals with those whom society wouldn’t touch. This gift of time radically transformed lives. How can we sit beside people today? How do we respond when those we sit beside live in sin?

Sunday 28th August – Take Action

Jesus came to open eyes, free captives and bring light to those in darkness. What is our active role in this ministry of Christ? When we see need in the world, what action can we take? How do our actions shape our beliefs, and how does what we believe impact our inclination to help or ignore the plight of others?

Sunday 4th September – Have Compassion

If we resist putting our faith into action, what is going on in our hearts? How do we develop compassion for those outside our own circle? How do we break down the walls that prevent us from loving others wholeheartedly?

Today is Father’s Day so in the 9.30am service our kids will stay in the auditorium for worship, communion and fun before they go to Lakes Kids.
